Thesis:Painting heroes: using illustration to improve the standing of baseball in the inner city - Worked with Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI), Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Boys & Girls Club to develop a series of conceptual portraits designed to increase interest in baseball, among inner-city children, by highlighting the personal narratives of contemporary African-American baseball players.

Studied with prominent artists and illustrators including Mark English, Gary Kelley, CF Payne, Anita Kunz, George Pratt, John English, Brent Watkinson, Josh George, Alexander Klingspor and Sterling Hundley. _Adjunct Instructor (2005–2011)
KSU School of Visual Communication Design
Sophomore and junior-level illustration instruction. Responsibilities included demonstrations of pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic, digital, collage, concept, and narrative illustration techniques. Regular classroom critiques emphasized traditional composition and design principles in art.

Responsibilities included assisting and shadowing professors teaching sophomore and junior level illustration classes and applying the knowledge in my own classes.
_Art Department Internship (2002)
The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, OH
Collaborated with multiple departments under tight deadlines, creating infographics, illustrations, page designs, and preparing photography for publication in the newspaper. Gained knowledge of digital workflow within large publications.
